Our office enters transfers on the computer for Real Estate, fills out and updates mapping cards, enters data information from data collectors and the appraiser, collects and fills out farm census of farmer's. We make copies of deeds of splits for the mapper, receive applications for homestead exemption, issue property returns to individuals, corporations and companies. We collect Personal Property forms on Vehicles, then enter all the information onto the computer. This office collects dog taxes, map sales, PF 12 sales, sheep and goat taxes, as well as farm decals. By January 15th each year we have to notify property owners when the assessed value of any item of real property is to be increased more than ten percent (10%) over the assessed valuation on the property for the previous tax year. All information has to be completed and entered by January 30th each year. By March 3rd the Assessor has to furnish to all levying bodies a certified statement of aggregate totals of real and personal property.
