Below are the steps in order to install and configure the National Public Radio (NPR) newsreader.
Download and install the NPR newsreader from this link: NPR Newsreader
Instructions:
1. Upon the startup of the installation you will be prompted with this screen. Refer to Picture 1.
2. Proceed to click Next. It will then take you to the END User Agreement Page. Read over this agreement and click on I accept.... then click on the Next button. Refer to Picture 2.
3. You will then be presented with the Install Path screen (As seen in Picture 3). Simply click on the Next button for the program to install itself.
4. The software will install automatically. Upon completion of the installation, the software will automatically run a setup (Refer to Picture 4). During this time there is no user input needed.
5. The software will then proceed with a Welcome program (As seen in Picture 5). Showing you about the software. Simply click Next to advance through the program.
6. OPTIONAL: The software will install an information across the top of the screen. If you wish to remove this banner, click the "X" on the banner. As seen in Picture 6.
7. The program will install a small utility in your System tray (Refer to Picture 7). To access the program to add our RSS feed, simply double click the icon.
8. It will proceed to open the NPR Newsreader (See Picture 8). In the lower left hand portion of the screen you will see a blue box with a white <. Click this button to expand the program to show you the feeds you are currently subscribed to (See Picture 9).

Click on Manage feeds button on the bottom left hand corner as seen

10. This will bring up the Manage Feeds dialog box. Here click on the Tab at top that says My Feeds.
11. In the box that has labled http:// (As seen in Picture 10) type monroecountywv.net/RSS/rss.xml or drag the RSS picture located below into that box. Then click Add.
12. When completed, click apply. You are now subscribed to the Monroe County News & Emergency Alert System. |
