Welcome to Monroe County's News & Emergency Alert System.  Our goal of this system is to provide the citizens of Monroe with news and alerts as soon as they become active.  With one of the free Newsreaders, you will be able to receive such alerts as:

• Severe Weather Alerts (Winter Storm Warnings, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, Tornado Warnings, etc)
• School Announcements & Dismissals.
• News Releases pertaining to Monroe County.
• Courthouse News and Important Dates.

Below are newsreaders that are required in order to receive these alerts.  Currently the NPR Reader is the one we recommend and the one currently in use with the county employees.  These newsreaders are free of charge.  If you chose to download the NPR Newsreader we have provided instructions on the installation and setup of the software.  If you have any questions on the install and setup of the newsreader please contact Jeremy Meadows at the Monroe County Clerks Office (304) 772-3096.  PLEASE NOTE:  Support will only be offered for the NPR reader at this time.
