The Tax Office can also renew vehicle license, and answer simple DMV questions. Remember some of the following points:

Monroe County Tax Office can only renew two classes. Class A (regular vehicles and trucks under one ton), and Class G (Motorcycles). Any other classes must be renewed at a Regional DMV Office (Princeton, WV or Lewisburg, WV). PLEASE NOTE: 2008 MOTORCYCLES & HANDICAP PLATES CAN NO LONGER BE RENEWED AT OUR OFFICE. THEY MUST BE RENEWED AT THE DMV REGIONAL OFFICE, THIS IS DUE TO NEW PLATES BEING ISSUED.
As the West Virginia Renewal states, you need the previous year's Personal Property Tax Ticket, as well as having the insurance information filled out on the back. If this is not done, it could result in the customer being turned away.
The Tax Office can only renew license for one year. We can not currently renew a license for two years.
The Tax Office can only renew a license if the customer has the renewal sent by the DMV from Charleston. If you did not receive a renewal you will have to go to one of the above stated Regional Offices.
Renewals can not be done through the mail. If a renewal is sent to us through the mail we have been instructed to send it back to the owner. All DMV's mailed are to be sent to Charleston.
